In Northern Europe many venous centers have created or used phlebological new techniques. A majority of conferences focusing on Phlebology topics are frequently located in the South, West and central Europe. In northern Europe „Endovenous“ practice takes also place in Malmoe, Bergen, Copenhagen, Riga, Luebeck and Rostock leading us to create an international Northern European Endovenous Forum (NEEF).
We will commence in Rostock, the Hanse and University City, where this year also coincides with the 800th anniversary of the granting the city rights to Rostock by Henry Borwin, Prince of Mecklenburg in 1218.
Friedrich Trendelenburg, who first described of the pathological recirculation of varicose veins (1888-1891) – the breakthrough of today’s therapies, presided between 1875 to 1882 as Chief of the surgical department of the University clinic of Rostock.
However, the most important motivation for us is to create a forum for an unconventional collegial exchange of rich experience, acquired during years of practice in variety endovenous therapy procedures. The individualized treatment planning, for each patient, should be our main objective.
Evidence-based studies form the basis in medicine and the user experience is essential for the further development and establishment of these new methods of endovenous treatment.
International forums have gained enormous importance recently for the professional exchange and sharing experience within medicine. Let’s get together to discuss the Status quo and the future of Varicose veins treatment.
We are looking forward to get together with you.
